Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026. Plain-language summary of how CHALAT: handles your data.
What we collect: your username (private, never shown to callers), email, country, preferred language, and the vehicles you register (plate number, type, colour/model).
What callers see: only your vehicle's plate number. Your name, username, and phone number are never shown to anyone who scans your QR sticker.
Calls: calls connect directly between browsers (peer-to-peer) using WebRTC. We don't record or listen to calls. A short-lived relay server may route audio if a direct connection isn't possible, but doesn't store it.
Anonymous scanners: people who scan your QR without an account are identified only by a random ID stored in their own browser — no personal information is collected from them.
Call log: we keep a log of calls/scans to your vehicles (time, an anonymous caller tag, duration) so you can review activity and block repeat callers. This is visible only to you.
Who we share data with: our infrastructure providers (database hosting, and a relay service used only to help connect calls) — never sold to advertisers or third parties.
Your control: you can delete any vehicle (and its data) at any time from your dashboard. To delete your account entirely, contact support@xyz.com.
